This is a beautiful, fruit-forward wine that showcases the essence of MARO Wines, and has been well-received every year.
To express the fruitiness of MARO Wines' Chardonnay straightforwardly, fermentation and aging have typically been done in 100% stainless steel tanks.
The 2024 vintage, however, presented a different character of fruit, requiring a different approach to bring out its richness. Therefore, 20% of the wine was aged in oak barrels.
It is a medium-bodied, dry style characterized by deep aromas from gentle spices layered over restrained fruit. The mellow texture comes from a creamy richness. The vibrant, high acidity provides structure to the abundant fruit that expands from a delicate first impression to the mid-palate. This wine can be enjoyed with a wide range of dishes by varying its temperature.

▪️Zweigeltrebe 2024▪️ [Red]
This red wine, made with Zweigeltrebe, one of the prominent dark grape varieties cultivated in Hokkaido and a source of pride for MARO Wines, reflects the scenery of the vineyard.
Careful selection in the vineyard and the perfect ripeness and quality of the 2024 grapes have made this the best vintage in the last 10 years.
Aromas where fresh fruit and wild notes intertwine.
A crisp acidity forms the backbone of the flavor, expressing a focused finish with a high-quality texture from fine tannins. It is a dry style that is tight and relatively light-bodied yet rich. This wine is best enjoyed with spiced red meats or light game dishes.
